Precautions ⚠⚡ Before using the VE-TTL, please read the following safety notices carefully and thoroughly. This will ensure safe use and to help prevent damage to your flash and injury to yourself or others. Prolonged, fast shooting at fast recycling rates might cause overheating. The Venture TTL’s protection circuit will shut the unit off for approximately 5–10 minutes. • If the flashtube or modeling light becomes cracked or damaged in any way, replace immediately.
Precautions ⚠⚡ (continued) • • 10 If you detect excessive heat, smoke, or a burning smell coming from the flash, immediately stop operation and remove the battery to prevent the product from igniting or melting. Take the product to an authorized service center for repair. If not used for two months, turn the unit on for 10 minutes with the modeling light off and fire the flash several times over that time period to charge the capacitors. • Handle this product with care.
Charging and Installing the Battery A multivoltage 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz charger is included with the Venture TTL 600 for the rechargeable Li-ion battery. 1. Plug the AC cord into a wall outlet, and the charger’s indicator light will glow green to indicate that power is being received. 2. Connect the DC cord to the battery. The charger indicator light will glow red to indicate the battery is charging, and green to indicate that the battery is charged. 3.
Charging and Installing the Battery (continued) Recharging the Battery When the battery capacity is low, the battery indicator ( ) will blink, and a warning tone will sound. Follow the charging instructions above to recharge the battery. When not in use, the battery loses approximately 3%–14% of its charge per month. It’s recommended to recharge the battery every 2–3 months, even if it’s not in use.

Refer to the Venture Wireless Transmitter’s instruction manual for information on how to set the flash power remotely using TTL.
Setting the Modeling Light The Venture TTL 600 has an integrated 1500 lm LED modeling light. The modeling light’s power output is represented on the LCD screen by 10%–100% (in continuous mode), or by AU (in proportional mode). Modeling light modes Four modeling light modes are available on the Venture TTL 600: F3-0: The modeling light power is in continuous mode and set independently of the flash output. The modeling light will stay on while the flash is recycling.

Tip: When the sound option is turned off, set the modeling light function to F3-1 or F3-3 to use the modeling light as a visual signal that the flash has recycled.
Operating the Venture TTL 600 (continued) Note: If you’re using modeling light modes F3-2 or F3-3, the modeling light power is set proportionally as you increase or decrease the flash power output. 6. Set the exposure settings you want to use on your camera (check your camera’s manual for specific instructions). 7. Take a test exposure, and make the necessary changes to the camera or monolight. Tip: For best results, a handheld flash meter is recommended when using the manual flash mode.
Using the Venture TTL 600 in TTL Mode Using the Venture TTL 600 in TTL Mode TTL mode allows you to control your Venture TTL 600 monolights remotely from up to 328′ (100 m) away while maintaining TTL functionality. TTL mode can only be used when the Venture TTL 600 is paired with the Venture wireless controller. To set the monolight to TTL mode, follow these steps: 1. Set the personal ID number, channel, and group on the Venture TTL. 2.
Replacing the Flashtube 1. Turn off the power, remove the battery, and wait at least 10 minutes for the flashtube to cool. 2. Remove the glass cover by gently pulling it off of the flash head. 3. Using white cotton gloves or a clean cloth, remove the retention spring wrapped around the top of the flashtube. 4. With needle-nose pliers, unhook the retention spring loop. 5. Once the spring is unhooked, grip the base of the flashtube on each side, and carefully pull it from the retaining sockets. 6.
Best Practices As with any flash unit, the useful life of the flashtube and the unit as a whole depends on the way it is used. Avoiding excessive heat is the key to long life of the product. • The fast recycling feature of the Venture TTL allows a rapid sequence of high-power flashes. However, this feature should be used sparingly, since continuous rapid flashing can cause overheating or damage to the flashtube.
