Terminology
Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) - Regulates the voltage of the unit to +/- 1% of the
generators stated output. AVR boards are used in place of standard capacitor
regulation for more efficient power.
Frequency (Hz) - The number of times an electrical signal repeats itself within a given
time limit, usually defined in Hertz (Hz). The standard rating in the United States is
60 Hz.
Kilowatt (KW) - A standardized term used to describe to generators size in electrical
output.
Load - The amount of electricity used.
Powermeter and Powermeter PRO - Are our specially designed power meters. Each meter
is engineered to be vibration resistant and show the constant frequency and voltage
of the unit. The Powermeter PRO comes with the extra LED indicator for measuring
the percentage of power in use.
Power Take Off (PTO) - A power take-off (PTO) is a splined driveshaft, usually on a
tractor used to provide power to separate attachments. The PTO allows for the use of a
tractors engine for many different utilities.
Voltage - A measure of electrical potential, commonly 120v or 240v in the United States.
