iRig PRO status LEDs
The two LEDs on iRig PRO (1,2) give you important
informationabouttheunit’soperativestatus.Eachstatusis
indicatedbyadifferentcolor.
Power / Audio Level LED (2):
•Off:iRigPROisnotconnectedtoanypowersource.
•Darkblue:iRigPROisconnectedandinstandbymode.
•Brightblue:iRigPROisconnectedandactive.
•Green:iRigPROisactiveandtheinputsignalislow.
•Orange:iRigPROisactiveandtheinputsignalisOK.
•Red:iRigPROisactiveandtheinputsignalistoohigh.
Phantom / MIDI LED (1):
•Off:phantompowerisoffandiRigPROisnotreceivingany
MIDImessage.
•Red:phantompowerison.Whenthe9Vbatteryisgetting
low,theredLEDblinkstoindicatethatthebatteryshouldbe
replacedassoonaspossible.
•Blue:iRigPROisreceivingMIDImessages.
Connecting Microphones
AlwaysconnectmicrophonestoiRigPRObyusingXLR-to-
XLRbalancedcables.Thiswillensureapristineandclean
performancefromyourmicrophonewithiRigPRO.
Dynamic microphones: before connecting dynamic
microphonesmakesurephantompoweristurnedoff.
CheckthePhantomPowerswitch(7)isontheOFFposition
andthePhantom/MIDILED(1)isnotred.
Condenser microphones: most condenser microphones
requireexternal phantompower. Ifphantom poweris ON,
switch it OFF, and then connect your microphone. Turn
phantompowerononlyafterthemicrophoneisconnected.
Onceit’sturnedon,checkforthePhantom/MIDILED(1)
tobecomeRED.If theLEDdoesn’t turnRED,checkthat
aworking9V battery isinserted in theiRigPRO’sbattery
compartmentonthebottomside,andthatanapplicationthat
isusingiRigPROisopen.PhantompowerwillNOTturnon
ifiRigPROisinStandby.
Ribbon microphones: before connecting a ribbon
microphone, turn off phantom power (7) and check the
microphone’s operating instruction manual to see if it
requiresit.Mostribbonmicrophonesdon’trequirephantom
power,andsomecanevenbe damagedbyit.Ifyou’rein
doubtjustleaveitoff.Ifthemicrophonewon’twork,checkits
usermanual,itmayneedphantompower.
Connecting Instruments
Connect your guitar, bass or any other mono instrument
tothe instrument input (4)on iRigPRO using an¼” plug
unbalanced(TSor“mono”)guitarcord.
