A.1.3 Anti-static Precautions
WARNING:
Failure to take ESD precautions during the installation of the
AFL2-W10A-N28 may result in permanent damage to the
AFL2-W10A-N28 and severe injury to the user.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can cause serious damage to electronic components,
including the AFL2-W10A-N28. Dry climates are especially susceptible to ESD. It is
therefore critical that whenever the AFL2-W10A-N28 is opened and any of the electrical
components are handled, the following anti-static precaution s are strictly adhered to.
Wear an anti-static wristband: Wearing a simple anti-static wristband can
help to prevent ESD from damaging any electrical compone nt.
Self-grounding: Before handling any electrical component, touch any
grounded conductin g material. Durin g the time the electrical co mponent is
handled, frequently touch any condu cting materials that are connected to the
ground.
Use an anti-static pad: When co nfiguring or working with an electrical
component, place it on an antic-st atic pad. This red uces the possibility of ESD
damage.
Only handle the edges of the electrica l component : When handling the
electrical component, hold the ele ctrical compon ent by its edges.
