other end of the thread. Pin it to the inside of the waistband on your pants. Place the wand into one of your
jacket or pants pockets.
SHOW:
1. Put the wand in the vase (or bottle) with the thread end facing down.
2. Pick up the vase and slowly move it away from you. As you do, the wand appears to rise from the bottle!
33. MAGNETIZED WAND
Your wand magically sticks to your hand!
PROPS USED: Magic Wand
THE SECRET: You secretly hold the wand with a hidden finger.
SHOW:
1. Show the wand to the audience. Hold it in your left hand with your right hand holding the wrist.
See FIGURE 1.
2. Secretly put up the pointer finger of your right hand to support the wand. Then open fingers of your left
hand. See FIGURE 2. This is the view from your side. The audience won’t see you holding the wand with
your pointer finger.
3. Hold hands this way for a few moments. The audience will see your hands as in FIGURE 3 and wonder
what holds up the wand!
4. To end the trick, close your left fist on the wand again. Pull the wand out of your left hand with your
right. Hold it up for the audience to see.

34. RISING RING ON WAND
A ring put on the magic wand mysteriously rises and falls!
PROPS USED: Magic Wand
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Dark-colored jacket, transparent nylon or black thread (about
18-20” long), safety pin, clear tape, a ring
THE SECRET: The ring moves along a piece of black or dark Thread that the
audience doesn’t see.
SECRET SETUP: With adult supervision, tape the thread to one end of the wand.
Tie a safety pin to the other end of the thread. Pin it to the right side of your pants
at waist level. Place the wand into one of your jacket or pants pockets.
SHOW:
1. To do this trick properly, be sure to stand back a little from the audience so that they can’t see the
thread. You should also wear a dark jacket or suit coat so that the thread will not be seen.
2. Borrow a ring from someone in the audience. Hold the ring in your left hand as your right unbuttons your
jacket or suit coat and removes the wand. Drop the ring over the top of the wand and over the thread. See
FIGURE 1.
3. Now hold your left hand in the air over the wand and make mysterious movements, as though drawing
the ring up by magic. Move your right hand slightly away from you and the thread will make the ring rise
on the wand. Then move the right hand closer to you and the ring will drop on the wand.
4. End the trick by returning the ring and putting the wand back into your inside pocket.
