SHOW:
1. Show the audience that the tube on the right side of the table is empty by grasping it in your hand and
tilting it toward the audience.
2. Next, lift the can to show the audience. Move your fingers under the can to hold the cup as you pick up
the can. Tilt it toward the audience so that they don't see the missing bottom of the can or the cup.
3. Show the audience the cup half full of liquid on the left side of the table. Pick up the blue tube while
gently applying pressure to hold the can against the inside of the tube. Place the tube and can over the
cup.
4. Say, "Now I will make the cup vanish from here and appear where the can is now, and the can will
appear where cup is. They'll change places. Watch carefully!"
5. Make some magical movements with your hands and lift up the blue tube on the right side of the table.
Gently press against the tube so that you lift up the can only, and the cup remains on the table.
6. Then lift up the tube on the left side of the table without applying pressure to the tube. The can will
appear from inside the tube.
7. Say, "Now watch the cup and can go back to their original positions." Put the blue tubes back over the
can and cup. Lift up the tube on the right side of the table without applying any pressure to the tube. Only
the can will be visible.
8. Then lift up the tube on the left side of the table by gently applying pressure. Only the cup will be visible
under the tube.
9. Say, "Now I'll make the juice disappear." Drink the liquid in the cup on the left side of the table.
Say, "That was easy! But what's under here?" Lift up the tube on the right side, gently applying pressure
so that the can lifts off with the tube to reveal the cup half full of liquid. Your audience will be baffled.
31. MAGIC WAND
Make your magic wand move without ever touching it!
PROPS USED: Magic Wand
THE SECRET: By blowing on the Wand you are able to make it move. It’s
important to blow gently so you don’t give the secret away.
SHOW:
1. Place your magic wand on the table. Bend down close to the wand
pretending to concentrate on it — hold your hands above the wand as if
you’re casting a spell on it. Ask your audience to focus on the wand.
Gently blow on the wand so it will roll. See FIGURE 1. Your audience will
wonder how you made it move without even touching it!
32. RISING WAND FROM VASE
A magic wand mysteriously rises out of a vase or bottle!
PROPS USED: Magic Wand
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Transparent nylon or black thread (about 18-20” long), a tall vase or soda bottle,
safety pin, clear tape
THE SECRET: The wand is pulled from the vase by a piece of thread.
SECRET SETUP: With adult supervision, tape the thread to one end of the wand. Tie a safety pin to the
