15. MULTIPLYING BALLS
Two, three, and then four red balls magically appear between your fingertips in a mysterious way!
PROPS USED: 3 Plastic Balls, Plastic Half-Ball
THE SECRET: A half-ball shell is used, which looks like a whole ball when seen from one side. It hides
another ball inside.
SECRET SETUP: This trick takes a lot of practice! You need to learn the "basic move" before attempting
the whole trick. Take one of the balls from your set and put it into the half shell. Turn the shell slightly to the
right and hold the ball and shell off to the side with the shell facing the audience. See FIGURE 1. It will look
like you are holding a single ball. Now bring your second finger down behind the ball, pressing firmly on it.
Raise your second finger. The ball will roll out of the shell and up between the index and second finger so
that it looks like there are two balls. See FIGURE 2 & 3. This is the basic move. It may seem hard at first,
but with practice you will be able to do it easily. Now move the second finger down and do the basic move
the other way, rolling the ball back into the shell in the direction shown in FIGURE 4.
After you have practiced, secretly put one ball and the shell in your right pocket, and another ball in your
left pocket.
SHOW:
1. Take the ball and shell out of your right pocket together so they look like one ball as in FIGURE 1.
2. Execute the basic move, and it will seem that a second ball has appeared from the air. Reverse the basic
move and the ball will disappear again.
3. Reach into your left pocket and take out a ball. The audience will think it’s the one that just disappeared.
Put it between your second and third fingers. See FIGURE 5.
4. Now do the basic move again and another ball will seem to appear from the air. See FIGURE 6.
5. When you get to FIGURE 6 in the trick, execute the basic move in reverse once more, so that ball
between your index finger and second finger vanishes as in FIGURE 5. Now take out the extra ball and
place it between your third and little finger. See FIGURE 7.
6. Then execute your basic move again, showing four balls for a finish! (Really, of course, it is three balls
and a shell.) See FIGURE 8.
7. Let the audience see the four balls in your hand for a moment. Then take them with your other hand,
and put them into your pocket.

16. PADDLE TRICK
A small rabbit seems to be on both sides of a paddle. Wave your hand over it and the rabbit disappears.
PROPS USED: Rabbit Paddle
THE SECRET: The rabbit is really only one side of the paddle. By flipping the paddle in a special way, you
make it seem that you are showing both sides when you are really showing just one at a time.
