13. SUPER QUARTER TRICK
Put quarters in a closed box and they mysteriously end up in your hand!
PROPS USED: Coin Container & Lid
SUPPLIES NEEDED: 2 to 4 quarters
THE SECRET: You magically put the lid on the bottom of the box allowing the quarters to fall into your hand
when you turn the box over.
SHOW:
1. Place the open box on the table. Put the quarters in it. Lay the lid against the box as shown
in FIGURE 1. Say, “ Watch what happens to these quarters!”
2. Pick up the box and lid in a special way. See FIGURE 2. Push down and forward with your fingers on the
top edge of the box. At the same time, push forward on the lid with your thumb.
3. The box will roll over forward. The lid will end up on the closed bottom of the box. Your thumb should be
up on lid. The quarters in the open part of the box are held in by your fingers. Quickly, but smoothly, turn
your hand and box over. See FIGURE 3.
4. Shake the box for the audience to prove the quarters are inside. Cup your hand to hide the quarters in
the open part of the box as you lift the box off with your other hand. Make a fist so that the quarters remain
hidden in your hand. Hold the box with the open part facing toward you.
5. Place the box,still open at the bottom, on top of your fist. Say, “Now, I’ll make the quarters go through
the box into my hand.” See FIGURE 4.
6. Tap the box and say some magic words. Open your fist and let the quarters fall to the table. Quickly pick
up the box taking the lid off and dropping the box into you hand. They’ll be truly amazed!

14. COIN IN THE AIR
Throw a coin into the air and it disappears!
PROPS USED: Double-Sided Tape
SUPPLIES NEEDED: 1 coin
THE SECRET: The coin sticks to the double-sided tape on your pants or
jacket so the coin is no longer there when you pretend to throw it.
SECRET SETUP: Take any small coin and place a piece of double-sided
tape on one side. Keep the coin ready in your pocket.
SHOW:
1. Take out the coin and hold it up for the audience to see. Keep the tape on the back hidden.
2. Say, “Watch this!” as you hold the coin way out to one side. Move your hand down to your side and
slightly behind you and back up again. As your hand passes behind you, secretly and quickly press the
double-sided tape side of the coin against the back of your jacket or pants, where it will stick.
3. As you move your hand back up again, open your fingers as though you were throwing the coin away.
The audience will wonder why they do not see the coin fly through the air or hear it drop on the floor! With
practice you will be able to do this trick so that your arm goes up and down in one smooth movement. Try
it in front of a mirror.
