SK627 Set up and Installation Instructions
Once you have set up the Temperature Alert, the sensor will measure the temperature once per minute. The temperature setting
options are 13 degrees Celsius (55 F) or 5 degrees Celsius (41F). Based on your needs and selection, if the temperature drops
below your setting, the sensor will go into alert mode (internal siren and wireless signal to the dialer/ or Siren). Once the alarm is
activated, it will ALERT again in 30 minutes if the temperature is still below the setting. If temperature has returned to normal, the
sensor goes back into STAND BY mode. 30 minutes later, if the temperature is still below the setting, it will ALERT one last time, and
go into stand by mode. The high heat level of 35 C (95F) is built into the unit, no setting is required. If the temperature in the
monitored area rises to or above 35c (95F) degrees the alert will be activated and alarm (if selected) will sound and wireless signal
sent to dialer.
INSTALLATION OF BATTERY
Remove cover from the back of unit and install the 3 AAA batteries included. Close cover and install
screw. (Fig.1) Put Power into ON position (on left side)
Instructions for connecting the SK627 Wireless Temperature Sensor to IDEAL Security’s auto dialer
LEARN ID CODE TO MAIN UNIT: The wireless temperature sensor is compatible with Ideal’s auto dialer. The temperature sensor must “learn
the code” to the SK622 auto dialer. The learning must be performed with the auto dialer in the “disarm” mode. Follow these steps also found at
http://www.idealinc.com/ideal/products.html and choose Installation & function Instructions; Security
Learn ID code to the SK622 auto dialer:
a. Open terminal compartment of the auto dialer. (Fig.2)
b. Press and hold the LEARN button (on DIALER) for 2 seconds, you will hear one beep
tone. Release the button. The unit is now ready to receive learn code signal from the
temperature sensor.
c. Trigger sensor by pressing the TEST button on the back of the (SENSOR) unit. The sensor will send a wireless RF signal to the
auto dialer.
d. You will hear 2 long beeps confirming that the programming of the learn code was done successfully. If programming of the learn
code was unsuccessful, you will hear four short beeps. Please relearn again.
The TEMPERATURE Alert can also be linked to Ideal’s Wireless Siren. Follow the LEARN instructions on the Siren instructions (turn
Alarm Off on the Temperature Alert during set up). Use the TEST button on the back of the ALERT and the LEARN button on the
Siren. Instructions can also be found at http://www.idealinc.com/ideal/products.html
TESTING THE SET UP and RANGE OF THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR WITH ALARM
After selecting suitable location for both the temperature sensor and the auto dialer, you should test the sensor transmitting range
before mounting them permanently. Ensure the temperature sensor (the switch is on the left side of the unit). Select the desired low
temperature you want to monitor and turn alarm to OFF position. Place the auto dialer in desired location (remember telephone
connection required) and turn the chime to ON, wait 60 seconds for it to go into standby mode. Once you hear a beep you are ready
to test. Press the TEST button on the back of the main unit of the temperature sensor. You should hear a chime from the auto dialer,
if not; a change of location is required. Test again with a new location. Once it is functioning you may permanently mount both units.
Mount the sensor main body with the screws and anchors provided and the sensor probe (with the screws against the wall) with the
double sided tape provided. Turn the alarm switch to ON for local warning sound if desired.
BATTERY LOW INDICATOR
When the batteries are low, the LED BAT LOW will flash. Replace batteries with new 3 AAA batteries immediately.
If the unit will not be used for a prolonged period of time the batteries should be removed.
