The USB 3.0 port of this external enclosure for 2.5"

SATA HDDs makes superfast data transfer possible.

That's because USB 3.0 has a tenfold bandwidth

compared to USB 2.0 and even a good advantage

against SATA. The ICY BOX IB-250StU3+BH accomplishes

the superfast data-transfer rates in connection with a

host and a cable which are USB 3.0 compatible too. If

the host PC is not equipped with a USB 3.0 controller

our adapters for the PCI slot or the express-card slot

are fine alternatives (ICY BOX IB-AC604 or IB-AC605).

As USB 3.0 is downwards compatible the ICY BOX

IB-250StU3+BH cooperates also with conventional USB

2.0 devices providing the USB 2.0 bandwidth. Thus this

ICY BOX can be the first stepping stone into the faster

USB 3.0 future.

You can upgrade your computer/notebook with a USB 3.0 PCI-card (eg ICY BOX IB-AC604/605). USB 3.0 has a 10 times higher bandwidth as USB 2.0 (5 Gbit/s to 480 Mbit/s) and theoretically 10 times higher transfer rate.
