These instructions cover the description and installation of
the AMWK001WG Iouvered panel accessory,
The kit contains the following items:
Frame assembly (attached to wall) 1
Louvered panel 1
Screw (frame-to-wall) 1- 1/4 in. 12
Thumb Screw (panel-to-frame) 3/8 in. 2
Installation Instructions 1
Installation
1. Align grille frame around fan coil unit with screw holes
over surrounding 2 X 4wall framing. (See Fig. 1.)
2. Using twelve 1-1/4-in. long screws, fasten grille
frame through its finished surface into 2 X 4wall
studs. Make sure that grille frame does not cover fan
coil unit access area and is square to the opening and
fan coil.
3, Set tabs at bottom of Iouvered panel into slots in
bottom of grille frame, then close Iouvered panel so
that it is flush with grille frame.
4, Fasten Iouvered panel to grille frame with two 3/8-in,
thumb screws. (See Fig. 1.)
NOTE: Louvered panel assembly may be installed before
fan coil unit is installed and preceding steps contain all the
information needed for that installation. The following
information regarding wall construction and fan coil
installation (normally at a later date) are provided for
reference only,
Refer to Fig. 1. Note that spacing between the 2 X 4 vertical
studs is 23-3/4 to 24 in. on center. The fan coil unit is 22 in.
wide and this leaves a maximum gap of 1/2 in. on 1 side
between the unit and the 2 X 4stud. Shim gap to properly
align and support fan coil unit. The horizontal bottom 2 X 4
shelf should be 6 to 18 in. above floor level, and the top 2 X
4 should be 38-1/8 to 38-3/4 in. above the bottom (inside
dimension). Set fan coil unit into wall flush or slightly
recessed from finished wall surface. Drive 4 field-supplied
screws through holes provided in fan coil casing side into 2
X 4stud.
CAUTION:
Do not distort fan coil wrapper. Shim to absorb space
between unit and wall framing before tightening screws, or
leave screws on one side loose (for location only),
