Note that long name, storage, and type options can be set for param eters through the user

Click the arrows at the right to move the se lected parameter further up or down the list of
availabl e para meters. Use the delete button ( marked with an X) to remove the selec ted par amet er.
Specifying Runtime Prompts for Parameter Values
If you have streams where you might need to enter different values for the same parameter on
different occasions, you can specify runtime prompts for one or mo r e stream or session par ameter
values.

Parameters. (Optional) Enter a value for the parameter, or leave the default va lue if there is one.
Turn off these prompts. Select this box if you do not want the se prompts to be displayed when yo u
run the stream. You can cause them to be redisplayed by selecting the
Prompt? check box on the
stream properties or session properties dialog box where the parameters were defined. For more
informa tion, see the topic Se tting Stream a nd Session Parameters on p. 68.
Specifying Value Constraints for a Parameter Type
You can m ake v alue constraints for a parameter available during stream deployment to an externa l
applicat ion that reads data modeling streams. This dialog box allows you to specify the values
availabl e to an external user running the stream . Depending on the data type, value con straints
vary dynamically in the dialog box. The options shown her e ar e identical to the options availa ble
for values from the Type node.
