IBM SPSS Modeler Overview
Launching from the Command Line
You can use the command line of your oper ating system to lau nch IBM® SPS Modeler
as follows:
E On a comput er where IBM® SPS S® Modeler is installed, open a DOS, or command-pr ompt,
window.
E To laun ch the SPSS Modeler interface in interactive mode, typ e the modelerclient command
followed by the r equired arguments; for example:
modelerclient -stream report.str -execute
The available arguments ( ags) allow you to connect to a server, load streams, run scripts, or
specify other parameters as needed.
Connecting to IBM SPSS Modeler Server
IBM® SPS Modeler can be run as a stan da lone application, or as a client connected to IBM®
SPSS® Mod eler Server directly or to an SPSS Modeler Server o r ser ve r cluster through the
Coordinator of Processe s plug-in from IBM® SPSS® Collaboration a nd Deployment Services.
The current connection status is displa yed at the bottom left of the SPSS Modeler w indow.
Whene ver you want to connect to a server, you can manually enter the server name to which
you want to connect or select a name that yo u have previously dened. However, if you have IBM
SPSS Collaborati on and Dep loyment S ervices, you can sear ch through a list of servers or serv er
clusters from the Serve r Login dialog box. The ability to browse through th e Statistics services
running on a network is made available through the Coordinator of Processes.
