Using IBM SPSS Modeler with a Repository
Topics. You can s earch on models associated with specific topics from a list set by repository
users with the
appropriate privileges (for more inf ormati on, see the Deployment Manager User’s
Guide). To obtain the list, check this box, then click th e Add Topic s button that is displayed, select
one or m ore topics from the list and click OK.
Label. Restricts the search to specific object version labels.
Dates. You can specify a cr eation or modification d ate a nd search on objects before, after, or
betwee n the specified date r an ge.
Author. Restricts the sea r ch to objects created by a specific user.
Keywords. Search on specific k ey words. In SPSS Modeler, keywords ar e specified on the
Annotation tab for a s tream, model, or output object.
Description. Search on specific terms in the description field. In SPSS Mod eler, the description is
specified on the Ann otation tab for a s tream, model, or ou tput object. Mult iple search phr ases
can be separated by semicolons—for example,
income; crop type; claim value
. (Note that within
a search phrase , spaces matter. For example,
crop type
with one space and
crop type
with two
spaces are not the same.)
Modifying Repository Objects
You can modify e xisting objects in the repository directly from SPSS Modeler. You can:
Create, r ename, or delete folder s
Lock or unlock obje cts
Delete objects
Creating, Renaming, and Deleting Folders
E To perform operations on folders in the repository, on the SPSS Modeler main menu click:
Tools > Repository > Explore...
E Specify connection settings to the re pository if necessary. For more information, see the
topic Co nnecting to the Repository on p. 161. For specific port, password, and other connection
details, contact your local system administrator.
E Ensure that the Folders tab is active.
E To create a new fold
er, right-click the parent folder and click New Folder.
E To rename a folder, right-click it and click Rename Folder.
E To delete a folder, right-click it a nd click Delete Folder.
Locking and Unlocking Repository Objects
You can lock an object to prevent other users from updating any of its e xisting versions or cre ating
new versions. A locked object is indicated by a padlock symb ol over the object icon.
