E Spacebar. Sele cts the Variable File node.
E Ctrl+Enter. Adds the Variable File node to the stre am canvas. This key combination also keeps
selection on the Varia ble File node so that the next node added will be connected to it.
E Tab. Moves focus back to the node palette .
E Right Arrow 4 times. Move s to the Derive node.
E Spacebar. Selects the Derive node.
E Alt+Enter. Adds the Derive node to the can vas and moves selection to the Derive node. This node
is now re ady to be connected to the next added node.
E Tab. Moves focus back to the node palette .
E Right Arrow 5 times. Moves fo cus to the Histogram node in the palette.
E Spacebar. Sele cts the Histogram n ode.
E Enter. Adds the node to the stream and moves focu s to the stream canvas.

Shortcut Keys Example: Editing Nodes
In this example, you will use the stream built in the earlier example. The stream consists of a
Variable Fil e node, a Deriv e node, and a Histogram node. The instructions begin with focus on the
third node in the stream, the Histogram node.
E Ctrl+Left Arrow 2 times. Moves focus back to the Variable File node.
E Enter. Ope ns the Variable File dialog b ox. Tab through to the File field and type a te xt file path
and name to select th at file. Press Ctrl+Tab to navigate to the lower part of the dialog box, tab
through to the OK button and pres s Enter to close the dialog box.
E Ctrl+Right Arrow. Gives foc us to the seco nd node, a Deriv e node.
E Enter. Opens the De r ive node dialog b ox. Tab through to select fields and specify derive
conditions. Press Ctrl+Tab to navigate to the OK button and press Enter to close the dia log bo
x.
E Ctrl+Right Arrow. Gives focus to the third no de, a Histog r am node.
E Enter. Opens th e Histogram node dialog b ox. Tab through to s elect fields and specify graph options.
For dr op-down lists, press Down Arrow to open the list and to highlight a list item, then press
Enter to select the list item. Tab through to the OK button and press En ter to close the dialo g box.
At this point, you can add addition al nodes or run the current stream. Keep in m ind the followi ng
tips when you are buil ding streams:
 When manually connecting nodes, u se F2 to create th e sta r t point of a connection, tab to move
to the end poi nt, then use Shift+Spacebar to finalize the connection.
