Folder Properties and Annotations
Individ ua l project folders (in both CRISP-DM and Classe s view) can be annotated. In CRISP-DM
view, this can be an extremely effective w ay to document your organization’s goals for each phase
of data mining. For example, using the ann otation tool for the Business Understanding folder,
you can include documentation such as “The business objective for this study is to red uce churn
among high-value customers.” This text could then be automatically included in the proje ct
report by selecting the Include in report option.
To annotate a folder:
E Select a folder in the project pane.
E Right-click the folder and click Folder Properties.
In CRISP-DM view, folder s are annotated with a summary of the purpose of each phase as well
as guidance on completing the relevant data mining tasks. You can remov e or edit any of th ese
annotations.
