Using IBM SPSS Modeler with a Repository
Scoring node. Select a graph, output or export node to identify t he stream branch to be used for
scoring the da
ta. While the stream can actually c ontain any number of v alid branches, models, and
terminal nodes, one and only one scoring br anch must be designated for purposes of deployment.
This is the most basic requirement to deploy any st r eam.
Scoring Parameters. Allows you t o specify parameters that can be modified when the scoring
branch is run. For more info r mation, see the topi c Scoring and Modeling Parameters on p. 188.
Modeling node. For model r efresh, specifies the modeling node used to r egenerate or update the
model in the repository. M ust be a modeling node o f the same type as that specified for Model
nugget.
Model Build Parameters. Allows you to specify parameters that can be modified when the mo deling
node is run. For more inf ormation, see the topic Scoring and Modeling Parameters on p. 188.
Model nugget. For model refr esh, specifies the model nugget that will be updated or regenerated
each time the stream is updated in the repository (typically as part of a scheduled job). The model
must be located on the scoring branch. While multiple models may exis t on the scoring branch,
only one can be designated. Note that when the s tream is initially created this may effectively be a
placeholder model that is updated or regenerated as new data is availab le.
Deploy as stream. Click this option if you want to use the stream with IBM SPSS Modeler
Advantage or IBM SPSS Collaboration and Deployment Serv ices (and see note following).
Deploy as scenario. Cli
ck t his option if you want to use t he stream with IBM SPSS Collaboration
and Deploy ment Serv ices or Predictive Applications version 5 (and see note following).
Check. C lick this button to ch eck whether this is a val id stream for deployment. All stre ams must
have a designated scoring node before they can be deployed. If yo u a r e deploying as a scenario,
the stream must als o contain a valid Enterprise View source no de . Error messa ges are displayed
if these conditions are not satisfied.
Store. Deploys the s tream if it is valid. If not, an error message is displayed. Click the Fix button,
correct the error and try again.
Preview Stream Description. Enabl es you to view the contents of the strea m d escription that S PSS
Modeler creates for the stream. For more information, see the topic Stream Descripti ons in
Chapter 5 on p. 74.
Note: (Deploy as stream or scenario) Multiple Enter prise View nodes can be use d within the
modeling branch. If so, using a single data connection for all Enterprise View nodes with in the
branch is pre f erable in most cases, and is required for Champion Challenge r analysis.
 If Champion Challeng er support is not required, different Enterprise View connections can
be used within the same b r anch, as long as th e connections vary by data provider de finition
(DPD) only.
 These limitations apply within a given branch only. Between the scor ing and model building
branches, different Enterprise View connections can be used wi thout such restr ictions.
