6.7.3 Configure the Classes of Service
Class ofService (COS) informationmust be created for eachclass of servicethat is tobe supported
by the HPSS system. A COS can be created using the HPSS Class of Service window. After the
configuration entry is created, it can be viewed, updated, or deleted through the same window.
From the HPSSHealth and Status window (shownin Figure 6-1), clickon the Admin menu, select
the Configure HPSS option and click on the Classes of Service option.
The Class of Service Configuration window will be displayed as shown in Figure 6-18. The fields
aredisplayedwithdefaultvaluesforanewclassofservice.Ifthedefaultdataisnotdesired,change
the fields with the desired values. Click on the Add button to create the configuration entry.
To update an existing class of service, select the Load Existing button on the Class of Service
Configurationwindowand select thedesiredclassof servicefromthe popuplist.The windowwill
berefreshedwiththeconfigureddata.Aftermodifyingthedata,clickontheUpdate buttontowrite
the changes to the SFS file. Refer to Section 3.11.3: Changing Class of Service Definition (page 80) in
the HPSS Management Guide for more guidelines on changing a class of service configuration.
To delete an existing class of service, select the Load Existing button on the Class of Service
Configurationwindowand select thedesiredclassof servicefromthe popuplist.The windowwill
berefreshedwiththeconfigureddata.ClickontheDeletebuttontodeletetheclassofservice.Refer
to Section 3.12.3: Deleting Class of Service Definition (page 82) in the HPSS Management Guide for
more guideline on deleting a class of service configuration.
Refertothe window’shelpfile formoreinformationon the individualfields andbuttonsaswell as
the supported operations available from the window.
