DS4100 specifications
Table 9 lists the physical specifications for the DS4100.
Table 9. IBM TotalStorage DS4100 specifications
Size
v Width: 48.18 cm (18.97 in.)
v Height: 13.23 cm (5.21 in.)
v Depth: 59.74 cm (23.52 in.)
Weight
v Drive-ready weight (without disk drive
modules installed):
Model 100: 26.64 kg (58.9 lb)
Model 1Sx: 23.44 kg (51.9 lb)
v
Fully configured weight (with 14 disk drives
installed):
Model 100: 40.36 kg (89 lb)
Model 1Sx: 37.16 kg (82 lb)
Environment
v Air temperature
Operating:
- Altitude: 0 - 914 m (3000 ft): 10° -
35° C (50° - 95° F)
- Altitude: 914 m - 2133 m (3000 -
7000 ft): 10° - 32° C (50° - 90° F)
Important:
The recommended
operating environment air temperature
is 22° C (72° F) or lower.
Storage:
- Altitude: 0 - 914 m (3000 ft): - 60°
C (33° - 140° F)
- Altitude: 914 m - 2133 m (3000 -
7000 ft): - 57° C (33° - 135° F)
v
Humidity
8% - 80%
Noncondensing
Heat dissipation
v Fully configured storage server (14 1.5
Gbps SATA hard disk drives)
1235 BTU per hour
Acoustical
noise emission values
For open bay (0 drives installed) and typical
system configurations (eight hard disk drives
installed):
v Sound power (idling):
5.9 bel (open bay)
6.1 bel (typical)
v
Sound power (operating):
5.9 bel (open bay)
6.2 bel (typical)
v
Sound pressure (idling):
44 dBA (open bay)
46 dBA (typical)
v
Sound pressure (operating):
44 dBA (open bay)
47 dBA (typical)
These
levels are measured in controlled
acoustical environments according to ISO
7779 and are reported in accordance with
ISO 9296. The declared sound power levels
indicate an upper limit, below which a large
portion of machines operate. Sound pressure
levels in your location might exceed the
average 1-meter values stated because of
room reflections and other nearby noise.
Notes:
1. The nonoperating environment must not exceed the operating environment
limits for longer than 60 days.
2. The storage environment must not exceed the operating environment limits for
longer than 1 year.
3. Substantial deviations from the suggested operating range, in either direction, if
sustained for extended periods of time, will expose the unit to greater risk of
failure from external causes.
The AC power sources must provide the correct voltage, current, and frequency
specified on the storage server. The storage server can run without interruption
within the limits shown in Table 10 on page 15.
