Readiris™ Pro 11

Installation

1. Install the readiris software.

(This application is compatible with Mac OS 10.3.9 – 10.4 is recommended).

Please, install the Readiris software before connecting the IRIScan scanner.

• Log in as administrator.

• Insert the Readiris CD-ROM in the CD-Rom drive.

• Double-click on the “CD-ROM” icon from the desktop; the Readiris window appears.

• Double-click on the “Readiris Installer” icon to run the installation.

• Click on the “Continue” button.

• Accept the license agreements by clicking on “continue”. You have to scroll down to activate

this button.

• Follow the on-screen instructions.

2. Connect the IRIScan to a free USB port.

3. Launch the Readiris software.

• Fill in the serial number (refer to the sticker on the DVD box).

• Proceed with the calibration: insert the delivered calibration

card face down into the IRIScan scanner.

• Congurethepreferencesoftheoutput.Youcanchoosethe

outputtypelesandtheoutputtarget.

Readiris Pro 11 interface Auto The OCR is automatically done. You simply have to initiate the scanning and save the text result. Open or Acquire Allows you to “Open” a pre-scanned image from your hard drive (select image files as source with the “Source” button). File / Scanner Allows you to select the image source. Disk or scanner. Text Allows you to open a file or an image.

Recognize Perform the document recognition. The OCR progress is indicated on-screen. Languages Click on the “Language” button to select one of the 118 languages. Learn Enable or disable the interactive learning phase. Interactive learning is disabled by default. Format Select the output target. Quick User Guide Readiris 1. Scan or open file. • Be sure that the IRIScan is selected as image source and that its settings are correct. • Select Text as document type. • Scan the page or open the image file.
