Adjust the valves as indicated in the illustration.
Tighten the lock nut and measure the valve lash
again. Torque Value: 24 N*m [18 ft-lb]

Install the valve covers and tighten capscrews.

DriveBeltTension
Check
Measure the belt deflection at the longest span
of the belt. Maximum Deflection: 9.5 to 12.7
mm [3/8 to 1/2 inch]
NOTE: The Cummins belt tension gauge, Part
No. ST-1293 can be used.
Gauge Value: 267 to 578 N [60 to 130 ft-lb]
