Cost
• An economical 160 x 80 monochrome display keeps the price point to a minimum
while still providing crisp, on-screen graphics
• The six screen-addressable function keys allow merchants to program terminals to
meet their specific needs and speeds transactions and training, saving time and cost.
Performance
• The Optimum L4200 is equipped with Hypercom’s innovative, dual-sided, bi-directional
magnetic stripe reader. This reader effectively eliminates the consumer’s stripe
orientation issue or the question, “Which way do I swipe my card?” This
implementation ensures a 99.99% first read rate when customers swipe their cards
• The L4200 can be configured with an integrated ISO 14443 A & B contactless RF
reader and EMV approved, ISO 7816 compatible chip card reader
• The L4200 comes standard with RS-232, Powered USB and 10/100Base-T Ethernet
ports, enabling connection to an ECR. The L4200 can also be optionally equipped with
a Host USB port for attaching USB peripherals such as barcode scanners, printers or
biometric ID devices
• The L4200 runs the entire suite of Hypercom’s state-of-the-art FPE32 software. This
mature software package features all the utilities for POS integration, screen creation
and remote terminal management.
Security
• The L4200 is the first multi-lane payment terminal that is PCI-PED approved and
complies with California’s Financial Code for visually disabled persons
• The L4200 supports DES and Triple DES DUKPT encryption, protecting valuable
cardholder PINs.
