Certifications 2

By heating and fire, harmful vapours/gases may be formed.
5.2. Special hazards arising
from the substance or mixture
5.3. Advice for firefighters
Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.
Selection of respiratory protection for firefighting: follow the general fire precautions indicated in
the workplace.
Special protective
equipment for firefighters
Cool containers exposed to heat with water spray and remove container, if no risk is involved.
Prevent runoff from fire control or dilution from entering streams, sewers or drinking water supply.
Special fire fighting
procedures
SECTION 6: Accidental release measures
6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Keep unnecessary personnel away. Keep upwind. Ventilate closed spaces before entering them.
Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective
clothing. Avoid inhalation of vapours/mist and contact with skin and eyes. Eliminate all ignition
sources (no smoking, flares, sparks, or flames in immediate area). Keep out of low areas. Wear
appropriate protective equipment and clothing during clean-up. Local authorities should be advised
if significant spillages cannot be contained.
For non-emergency
personnel
Keep unnecessary personnel away. Wear protective clothing as described in Section 8 of this
safety data sheet.
For emergency responders
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not discharge into drains, water courses or
onto the ground.
6.2. Environmental precautions
Eliminate all ignition sources. Take precautionary measures against static discharge. Use only
non-sparking tools.
Large Spills: Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Dike the spilled material, where this is
possible. Use a non-combustible material like vermiculite, sand or earth to soak up the product
and place into a container for later disposal. Ventilate the area. Following product recovery, flush
area with water.
Small Spills: Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
Never return spills in original containers for re-use.
6.3. Methods and material for
containment and cleaning up
For personal protection, see section 8 of the SDS. For waste disposal, see section 13 of the SDS.
6.4. Reference to other
sections
SECTION 7: Handling and storage
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Take precautionary measures against static
discharges. Ground container and transfer equipment to eliminate static electric sparks. Use
non-sparking hand tools and explosion-proof electrical equipment. Use only outdoors or in a
well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing mists or vapours. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear
protective clothing as described in Section 8 of this safety data sheet. Avoid prolonged exposure.
Wash thoroughly after handling. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Observe good
industrial hygiene practices. Avoid release to the environment.
7.1. Precautions for safe
handling
Follow rules for flammable liquids. Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.
Store away from incompatible materials. Keep away from heat, spark, open flames and other
sources of ignition. Prevent electrostatic charge build-up by using common bonding and grounding
techniques. Keep in an area equipped with sprinklers.
7.2. Conditions for safe
storage, including any
incompatibilities
Non-Setting and Non-Hardening Gasketing Compound.
7.3. Specific end use(s)
