HWAM 2600 Lighting Guide - Special Information
User information
You have purchased a HWAM 2600 with HWAM® Autopilot™ or
HWAM® SmartControl™, and that is why we have some special informa-
tion for you.
The bottom of the combustion chamber of HWAM 2600 comes with
a special feature. To make room for HWAM® Autopilot™ or HWAM®
SmartControl™ behind the ash pan, the ash pan grate has been placed up
close to the door.
Lighting the stove
To achieve the best lighting, place the firewood and kindling as close to the
glass pane as possible. If firewood or kindling is placed at the very back of
the combustion chamber, this may have an unfortunate effect, especially
in connection with stoking, as a large part of the combustion air will pass
along the glass pane without reaching the fire.
Although it will not make much of a difference once there is a sufficient
layer of embers, it is generally a good idea to pull the firewood towards
the glass pane in the door. This way, optimal use of the primary air is en-
sured.
Characteristics of the grate in combustion chamber
The loose grate at the bottom of the combustion chamber has oblique
slats pointing towards the centre of the combustion chamber and leading
the air in that direction.
If the grate has been dismantled for cleaning, always make sure that it is
correctly installed with the slats pointing towards the centre of the com-
bustion chamber. Otherwise, the air will be blown towards the glass pane
rather than the re, which may result in prolonged lighting and insufcient
combustion.
