These mowers have a master in-line fuse in the electrical
system. This is the main fuse to protect the complete
electrical system. It is located under the seat platform and
next to the solenoid. Figure 4-1

Fuel and Evaporative Emissions Control System
IMPORTANT: Refer to the Safety section of this manual for
fuel handling safety information.
IMPORTANT: Refer to the engine owner’s manual for
additional emission control information.
The fuel and evaporative emissions control system for this
mower is EPA compliant. Use only Hustler
®
approved
replacement parts.
Your evaporative emission control system may include
parts such as:
• fuel tank
• fuel lines
• fuel line fittings
• fuel caps
• carbon canisters
• canister mounting brackets
• carburetor purge port connection
• filters
• vapor hoses
• clamps, control valves
• control solenoids
• electronic controls
• vacuum control diaphragms
• purge valves
• liquid/vapor separator
• other associated components
The fuel tank is an integrated part of the engine. Figure 4-2
Park the mower on level ground before filling the fuel tank.
Clean the area around the fuel cap before removing the
cap. Remove the fuel cap slowly.
After filling, reinstall the fuel cap.
IMPORTANT: Do not overfill the fuel tank. The fuel tank
should be filled no higher than the bottom of the fuel tank neck.
(Figure 4-3)
The fuel system is designed to leave room for the
fuel to expand with fuel temperature changes.
