Static IP Address: A static Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that is
assigned to a computer by an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to be its
permanent address on the Internet. Computers use IP addresses to locate
and talk to each other on the Internet. If Static IP addressing is enabled on
the Satellite IP Modem Control Pad Network Settings screen, you must
enter an IP address supplied by your Service Provider in the Static Public
Network IP Address field that follows.
USB: The Universal Serial Bus interface is a standard protocol for many computer
peripheral devices, including modems, scanners, digital cameras, printers, and
others. It is one of the three communications interfaces supported by the
Satellite IP Modem.
