Environments where IFLs are installed vary widely. Therefore, use
the general instructions below as guidelines.
If you need to replace the IFL:
1. Make sure the EMS operator has taken the HT out of
service.
2. Remove power from the IDU chassis power supply.
3. Disconnect all four IFL N connectors, as shown in
figure 10-7:
- 1 connector at the IDU
- 1 connector at the ODU
- 2 connectors at the lightning arrestor

4. Remove the two IFL cable segments:
- From IDU to the lightning arrestor
- From the lightning arrestor to the ODU
5. Install the replacement IFL cable according to the
instructions in chapter 5.
