3.42 Why does my phone still fail to receive signal after it
comes back from an area with poor signal coverage?
According to the current general display solution for phone signals, signals are displayed if
the CS domain registration is successful. If the CS domain registration fails, No Internet
connection will be displayed in the corresponding spot. The CS domain registration failure is
usually caused by poor signals (sometimes by network rejection). If a phone fails to register
with a network, it will keep trying for another several times. If the registration still fails, the
T3212 timer will be enabled. The phone will try the registration again after the timer expires.
Before the timer expires, the CS domain is unavailable. In-depth fault locating is needed if the
scenario under which the CS domain registration fails cannot be confirmed.
3.43 My phone is accommodated with two SIM cards and SIM
card 2 is the primary card. After a modem crash is triggered,
SIM card 1 is registered with a 3G network while SIM card 2
is registered with a 2G network with unavailable data services.
However, in dual-card settings, SIM card 2 is the primary
card and data services are prioritized on SIM card 2. Why
does this phenomenon occur?
Switching between the primary and secondary cards is realized by modifying the value of
NV10 of SUB0 and SUB1 on the modem side.
According to the current platform design specifications, the value of NV is written with a
cycle time of 10 minutes. Therefore, if the modem crash is triggered immediately after the
primary and secondary cards are switched, the value of NV10 will not be written into the
EFS.
3.44 Why is my phone suddenly disconnected from the 2G
network for more than 10 seconds before receiving full signal
again?
If the network switches from 2G to 3G and a location update is rejected by the network with
the cause value of #15, your phone needs to search for other 3G cells and try connecting to
one. However, your phone fails to find another available 3G cell but later successfully finds
and registers with a GSM network.
This phenomenon is negligible with the following reasons:
