Personal Information and Data Security The use of some functions or third-party applications on your device could result in your personal information and data being lost or becoming accessible to others. Several measures are recommended to help you protect personal and confidential information. Place your device in a safe area to prevent it from unauthorized use. Set your device screen to lock and create a password or unlock pattern to open it.
Some applications require and transmit location information. As a result, a third-party may be able to share your location information. Your device may provide detection and diagnostic information to third-party application providers. Third party vendors use this information to improve their products and services. If you have concerns about the security of your personal information and data, please contact mobile@huawei.com.
(Optional) Installing the microSD Card If you want to expand your phone memory, you can also insert a microSD card. 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert the microSD card into the card slot as shown in the diagram. Do not insert or remove the SIM/USIM or microSD card when the phone is powered on as it may damage your phone. Removing the microSD card when the phone is running will also cause the phone to automatically shut down. Installing the Battery 1.
Charging the Battery Before charging the battery, ensure that it has been properly installed on your phone. 1. Connect the charger to USB cable. 2. Connect the charger to a power outlet. 3. Connect the USB cable to the phone to start charging. If your phone is powered on, the battery icon on the notification bar displays the charging status. The icon indicates the battery is fully charged. Touchscreen Actions Using your finger on the touchscreen, you can operate your phone conveniently.
Powering On Your Mobile Phone Press and hold (Power key) located on the right side of the device. The first time you power on your phone, you will be asked to sign in to your account and set up your mobile phone. If personal identification number (PIN) protection is enabled on your mobile phone, you must enter your PIN before using the mobile phone.

Making a Call with the Dialer Application 1. On the home screen, touch or > Phone to display the dialer. 2. Touch the appropriate number keys to enter the phone number. 3. Touch at the bottom to initiate the call. Your mobile phone supports the smart dial function, that is, when you touch numbers on the dialer, the phone automatically searches among your contacts and lists the matching results ordered according to the accuracy of the match.
Connecting to the Internet Turning On WLAN 1. On the home screen, touch > Settings. 2. Slide the slider to the right to turn on WLAN. Opening the Browser Touch > Browser to open the home page.
