Off The HG552a is powered off, the wireless function is disabled, or the WLAN module is faulty. On The ADSL connection is established and activated.

EchoLife HG552a Home Gateway User Guide Configuring the HG552a 4 Configuring the HG552a 4.1 Accessing the Web Configuration Page The HG552a provides simple and easy-to-use Web configuration pages, through which you can check and configure the working parameters of the HG552a. To log in to the Web configuration page, do as follows: Step 1 Step 2 Start the Internet Explorer on the PC. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar of the Internet Explorer, and then press Enter.
EchoLife HG552a Home Gateway User Guide Data Services 5 Data Services 5.1 Introduction The WAN interface of the HG552a supports multiple work modes, as listed in Table 5-1. Dialing is performed through the embedded PPP dialer software of the HG552a. Data packets are encapsulated in PPPoEoA mode. The HG552a serves as a network bridge.

Default gateway address It is recommended that the default gateway address be automatically obtained.

Generally, use the default setting. z You can skip this step if only one PC is located in the LAN and a static IP address has been specified for the PC. z It is recommended that the DHCP service be enabled if multiple PCs access the Internet through the HG552a.
EchoLife HG552a Home Gateway User Guide Data Services After you configure the HG552a, each user PC connected to the HG552a can dynamically obtain an IP address according to the configuration of the upper-layer equipment or can be installed with PPP dialer software to access the Internet. 5.3.3 Creating a PPP Dialup Connection on the PC When the gateway is working in bridge mode, you need to install the PPP dialer software on your PC so that your PC can dial-up to the Internet.

To access the WLAN through the wireless data card on your PC, you only need to activate the wireless network function on the HG552a. Therefore, you do not need to connect any network cable, access the Internet through the WLAN. 7.
EchoLife HG552a Home Gateway User Guide Wireless Services With the MSSID function, you can virtualize multiple independent access points (APs) used in wireless networks. In terms of the wireless network, client each virtualized wireless AP is equivalent to a physical wireless AP. Each wireless AP has its own SSID. The HG552a supports one SSID, which can be configured through the Web configuration page of the HG552a or configured remotely through the management system of the HG552a. 7.3.
