1 Getting to Know Your Phone Your Phone The following figure shows the appearance of your phone.

2 Getting Started Installing the SIM Cards and the Battery You can install up to two subscriber identity module (SIM) cards in the phone at the same time. When installing a SIM card, ensure that the gold contact area faces down, and that the beveled edge of the SIM card aligns with that of the SIM card slot. to To enable dual‐SIM mode, power on the phone, press access the main menu, and tap Settings > Dual SIM settings > Dual SIM open.
Installing and Removing a microSD Card Before installing or removing a microSD card, power the phone off. When the phone is powered back on, it indicates whether the microSD card has been installed correctly. You can expand your phone's memory capacity by installing a microSD card. When installing a microSD card, ensure that the gold contact area faces down. Charging the Battery 1. Connect the small end of the USB cable to the phone's charger jack and the large end to the charger. 2.
Tap: Use your finger to touch the screen once to access a menu or select an item. Drag: Touch and hold an icon on the main menu, and then move the icon by moving your finger across the screen. You can also scroll through a menu, text document, or web page using the same 'touch and move' action. Calibrating the Screen Once calibrated, the phone responds more accurately to your touch on the screen. to access the main menu, and 1. In standby mode, press tap Settings > Pen calibration.
Phone Lock The phone lock protects your phone from unauthorized use. The preset phone unlock code is 1234. By default, the phone lock is disabled. Once the phone lock is enabled, you must enter the phone unlock code each time you power on the phone. To enable the phone lock: 1. Press to access the main menu and tap Settings > Security settings > Phone security > Phone lock. 2. Tap the text box to access the on‐screen keypad. 3. Enter the phone unlock code, and tap OK.
To enable the PIN lock: to access the main menu and tap Settings > 1. Press Security settings > SIM1 or SIM2 security > PIN lock. 2. Tap the text box to access the on‐screen keypad. 3. Enter the PIN, and tap OK. If you enter the incorrect PIN a specified number of times, the phone prompts you to enter the PUK. If you enter the incorrect PUK a specified number of times, the SIM card will become permanently invalid. If this occurs, contact your service provider for a new SIM card.

To make an international call, tap the * key twice to enter the plus sign (+). Then enter the country or region code, area code, and phone number. 4 Text Input Changing the Text Input Mode The current text input mode indicator is displayed in the upper left on the QWERTY or alphanumeric corner of the screen. Tap input screen to switch between text input modes.
Tap once to delete the last character entered, or tap and hold to delete all the characters. Tap to start a new paragraph. Tap to hide the keypad. Tap to switch from the QWERTY input screen to the alphanumeric input screen. Tap to access the symbol/number keypad. Tap to switch between text input modes. Tap to switch between upper case and lower case.

Tap to switch between text input modes. Tap to access the symbol keypad. Entering a Word To enter a word on the QWERTY input screen, tap the keys labeled with the letters that spell the word.
Entering Numbers On the QWERTY input screen, tap to access the number/symbol keypad, and enter the desired numbers. On the alphanumeric input screen, tap to access the number keypad, and enter the desired numbers. In number input mode, tap the desired number keys. Entering Symbols On the QWERTY input screen, tap to access the symbol/number keypad to display commonly used symbols. If to access the the symbol you want is not shown, tap complete symbol keypad to display all available symbols.
4. Write the message. 5. Tap 2. to send the message from SIM card 1 or SIM card Sending a Multimedia Message 1. In standby mode, tap at the bottom of the screen to access the Messaging screen. 2. Tap Write message. 3. Tap Options > Switch to MMS. If you tap Add picture, Add sound, Add video, Head info, Cc, Bcc, or Subject, the message automatically changes from a text message to a multimedia message. 4. Tap and enter the recipient's phone number; or tap to add a recipient from the phonebook.
6 Phonebook Creating a Contact To add a contact to your SIM card: at the bottom of the screen to access 1. In standby mode, tap the Contacts screen. All the contacts stored in the preferred storage are displayed. By default, the contacts are stored in the phone memory. If you have set Preferred storage to SIM1 or SIM2, the contacts stored on SIM card 1 or SIM card 2 are displayed. If you have set Preferred storage to All, the contacts stored in the phone memory and on the two SIM cards are displayed. 2.
Searching for a Contact 1. In standby mode, tap the Contacts screen. at the bottom of the screen to access 2. Enter the first letter of the contact name in the search bar. Contacts who have names that start with this letter will be displayed. 3. Tap to hide the keypad, and look for the desired contact. Setting the Preferred Storage 1. 10 Media Player The media player plays audio and video clips stored in the phone memory or on the microSD card. You can add any of these audio or video clips to a user‐defined playlist. Creating a Playlist 1. In standby mode, press to access the main menu. 2. Tap Media player > My playlists > Options > New. 3. Give the playlist a name. 4. Tap Options > Done. Adding an Audio or Video Clip to a Playlist 1. In standby mode, press to access the main menu. 2. Tap Media player > My playlists. 3.
3. Select the desired playlist. 4. Tap Options > Open, and select the audio or video clip that you want to play. 5. Tap Options > Play. When the clip is being played: Tap to access the Options screen to configure the media player settings. Tap or to advance to the next clip on the playlist or go back to the previous one. Enter the password to pair the Bluetooth headset with your phone.
