2 Getting Started Installing the SIM Card and the Battery When installing a SIM card, ensure that the gold contact area faces down, and that the beveled edge of the SIM card aligns with that of the SIM card slot. Removing the Battery and the SIM Card Before removing the battery and the SIM card, ensure that your phone is powered off.
Installing and Removing a microSD Card Before installing or removing a microSD card, power the phone off. When the phone is powered back on, it indicates whether the microSD card has been correctly installed. You can expand your phone's memory capacity by installing a microSD card. When installing a microSD card, ensure that the gold contact area faces down. Charging the Battery 1. Connect the small end of the USB cable to the phone's charger jack and the large end to the charger. 2.
3. Wait until the battery is fully charged. While the battery is charging, the charging icon blinks. When the charging icon stops blinking, the battery is fully charged. 4. Unplug the charger from the power outlet and the USB cable from the phone. Navigating the Main Menu 1. In standby mode, press (Menu) to access the main menu. 2. Use to scroll to the desired application, and press to access the application. 3. Press press 4.
3. Press (Edit) to set the profile to activate at a specified time. 4. Press (Done) to save the settings. Phone Lock The phone lock protects your phone from unauthorized use. The preset password to unlock your phone is 1234. By default, the phone lock is disabled. Once you enable the phone lock, you must enter the password each time you power on the phone. To enable the phone lock: 1. Select Menu > Settings > Security settings > Phone security > Phone lock. 2.
Mass Storage When you have connected your phone to a computer using the USB cable, you can select Mass storage to manage the files stored in the phone memory or microSD card using the computer's file manager application. The phone memory and its microSD card are displayed as removable disks on the computer. You can perform the following operations: Double-click a disk to open it. Copy, paste, or delete files. Disconnect the phone from the computer.
unblocking key (PUK). If this occurs, enter the PUK to unblock the blocked PIN. If you incorrectly enter the PUK a specified number of times, the SIM card will become permanently invalid, and you must contact your service provider for a new SIM card. Both the PIN and the PUK are provided with the SIM card. For details, contact your service provider. To enable the PIN lock: 1. Select Menu > Settings > Security settings > SIM security > PIN lock. 2. Enter the PIN, and press (OK).
When the keypad is locked, you can press a call or make an emergency call. to answer Other Applications As well as being a communication device, your phone also provides you with the following applications: Calculator: perform basic calculation. Stopwatch: time a process. Ebook reader: read ebooks. Calendar: view and add events or appointments on your calendar. Tasks: view and add tasks. Alarm: set alarms. Fun & Games: play games. Java: run Java applications.
To call an extension, enter the switchboard number, press to enter P, and enter the extension number. 2. Press 3. Press to dial the number. to end the call. You can also make calls from call logs, contacts, and messages. During a call, you can press in-call volume. or to adjust the Answering a Call When you receive an incoming call: Press or (Answer) to answer the call. Press to reject the call. If the Any key answer function is enabled, you can press any key except and to answer a call.
4 Text Input Changing the Text Input Mode The current text input mode indicator is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. Press input modes. Entering a Word To enter a word in traditional input mode, press the keys labeled with the letters that spell the word. To enter a word in predictive input mode: 1. Press each key once according to the spelling sequence of the desired word. The phone then displays candidate words associated with the keystroke sequence. 2. Press , , word. You can also press or , or or to scroll to the desired to scroll left or right, and to turn to the previous or next page. 3. Press to enter the selected word.
Using the Fn Key To enter only one symbol or digit, press the key labeled with the desired symbol. once and then To enter multiple symbols or digits, press twice and then the keys labeled with the desired symbols or digits.
5 Messaging Sending a Text Message 1. Select Menu > Messaging > Write message. 2. Write the message. 3. Press , and enter a recipient's phone number or add a recipient from Phonebook. 4. Press to send the message. Sending a Multimedia Message 1. Select Menu > Messaging > Write message. 2. Write the message. 3. Press (Options) for the following options: Switch to MMS: change from a text message to a multimedia message.
4. Press , and enter a recipient's phone number or add a recipient from Phonebook. 5. Press to send the message. Contact your service provider to determine the availability of the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and how to subscribe to the service. Your phone supports multimedia messages up to 300 KB. Open multimedia messages with caution. Objects in multimedia messages may contain viruses and malicious software that can damage your phone. 6 Phonebook Creating a Contact 1.

When reading an ebook, press and to turn to the previous or next page. Ebooks are stored in the Ebook folder of your phone or microSD card. 11 Camera The phone features a built-in 2.0-megapixel complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) camera. To take a picture: 1. Select Menu > Multimedia > Camera, or press standby mode. 2. On the viewfinder screen: Press settings. to view pictures or configure camera Press or to adjust the exposure. Press or to zoom in or zoom out.
Press to switch to simplified mode. 3. Frame the picture you want to take on the viewfinder screen, and press to take the picture. 4. Press to save the picture, or press (Options), and select Delete to delete the picture. 12 Audio Player The audio player plays audio files stored in the My music folders of your phone memory or microSD card. For the best audio quality, use the headset provided. To play an audio file: 1. Select Menu > Multimedia > Audio player.
Press the button on the headset cable to switch between audio files. Press (List) to view the playlist, and then (Options) to configure the playlist settings. Press to pause or continue. 13 FM Radio The headset cable also functions as the FM radio antenna when the radio is turned on. To ensure good radio reception, do not disconnect the headset from the phone or bend the headset cable excessively. To listen to the radio: 1. Connect the headset to the phone. 2.
Press (Options), and select Auto search to search for and save channels automatically. Press a number key to switch to the corresponding channel in the saved channel list. Press the button on the headset cable to switch between channels. Press (Options), and select Record to record the current radio program. Press (Options) to configure settings such as viewing or editing the channel list, manually setting a frequency, and searching for and saving channels automatically.
Not all Java applications are compatible with your phone. If you have trouble installing or running a Java application, press to return to standby mode, and remove the application from your phone. Certain Java applications require network connections. Therefore, ensure that the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) connection is properly set up on your phone. Installing a Java Application 1. Select a Java installation file in .jar or .
Removing a Java Application 1. Select Menu > Fun & Games > Java. 2. Scroll to the desired Java application. 3. Press (Options), and select Delete to delete the application. 4. Press (Yes) to confirm the certification information. When the Java application is removed, Deleted is displayed. You can only remove Java applications you have installed.
WLAN status: view your phone’s Media Access Control (MAC) address. Disable WLAN: turn off Wi-Fi. Power Save Mode: select a power saving mode. Refresh: display available WLANs. 16 Services You can use your service provider's network to access WAP sites and use WAP-based services. To browse WAP pages using your service provider's network, you must subscribe to the data service from your service provider and configure your phone's relevant settings.
If the data account provided by your service provider is already set up on your phone, you do not need to create a new data account. Setting Up the Data Account 1. Select Menu > WAP > Settings > Data account. 2. Select your service provider, and press (OK). Connecting to the Internet 1. Select Menu > WAP > Input address. 2. Enter the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of the desired WAP site. 3. Press (Options), and select Go to to access the WAP site. 17 Bluetooth Your phone supports Bluetooth.
Connecting a Bluetooth Headset to Your Phone 1. Select Menu > Connectivity > Bluetooth > Power > On to turn on Bluetooth. 2. Select Search audio device to search for available Bluetooth headsets. 3. Scroll to the desired Bluetooth headset, and press (Pair). When you pair your phone with the device for the first time, a password is required. 4. Enter the password to pair the Bluetooth headset with your phone.
3. Scroll to the desired Bluetooth device, and press (Pair). 4. Transfer data between your phone and the Bluetooth device. 18 SNS Applications You can send and receive instant messages and files with our five built-in SNS applications: Facebook chat, Facebook, Messenger, Gtalk, and Twitter. Depending on your phone's operating system version, these applications are provided as either pre-set links or clients. Check your GPRS settings before using SNS applications.
19 STK The SIM Tool Kit (STK) function is provided only by some service providers. It allows you to send text messages, read news, and use other applications. For details, contact your service provider. 20 Weather Your phone supports AccuWeather.com, an application that provides you with the most accurate and up-to-date weather information for your chosen city. To launch the weather application: 1.
21 Warnings and Precautions This section contains important information pertaining to the operating instructions of your device. It also contains information about how to use the device safely. Read this information carefully before using your device. Electronic Device Power off your device if using the device is prohibited. Do not use the device when using the device causes danger or interference with electronic devices.

Do not use your device while flying in an aircraft. Power off your device before boarding an aircraft. Using wireless devices in an aircraft may cause danger to the operation of the aircraft and disrupt the wireless telephone network. It may also be considered illegal.
While using the device, observe the local laws and regulations, and respect others' privacy and legal rights. Keep the ambient temperature between 0°C and 40°C while the device is being charged. Keep the ambient temperature between 0°C to 40°C for using the device powered by a battery. Prevention of Hearing Damage Using a headset at high volume can damage your hearing. To reduce the risk of damage to hearing, lower the headset volume to a safe and comfortable level.
The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times before it eventually wears out. When the standby time and the talk time are shorter than the normal time, replace the battery. Use the AC power supply defined in the specifications of the charger. An improper power voltage may cause a fire or a malfunction of the charger. Do not connect two poles of the battery with conductors, such as metal materials, keys, or jewelries.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire as they may explode. Batteries may also explode if damaged. Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Recycle or dispose of used batteries according to the local regulations or reference instruction supplied with your device. Cleaning and Maintenance The device, battery, and charger are not water-resistant. Keep them dry. Protect the device, battery, and charger from water or vapor.
Before you clean or maintain the device, power off the device and disconnect it from the charger. Do not use any chemical detergent, powder, or other chemical agents (such as alcohol and benzene) to clean the device and the charger. Otherwise, parts of the device may be damaged or a fire can be caused. You can clean the device and the charger with a piece of damp and soft antistatic cloth. Do not dismantle the device or accessories.
The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is the unit of measurement for the amount of radio frequency energy absorbed by the body when using a device. The SAR value is determined at the highest certified power level in laboratory conditions, but the actual SAR level of the device when being operated can be well below the value. This is because the device is designed to use the minimum power required to reach the network. The SAR limit adopted by USA and Canada is 1.
