2 Get t ing St art ed Installing the SIM Card and the Battery When installing a SIM card, ensure that the gold contact area faces down, and that the beveled edge of the SIM card aligns with that of the SIM card slot. Before removing the battery and the SIM card, ensure that your phone is powered off.
Charging the Battery 1. Connect the charger to an AC power socket. 2. Connect the charger to the phone's charger jack. 3. Wait until the battery is fully charged. While the battery is charging, the charging icon blinks. When the charging icon stops blinking, the battery is fully charged. When you charge a completely exhausted battery, the charging icon may appear several minutes later. 4. Disconnect the charger from the phone. 5. Disconnect the charger from the AC power socket.
If you enter the incorrect PUK a specified number of times, the SIM card will become permanently invalid. If this occurs, contact your service provider for a new SIM card. Locking and Unlocking the Keypad To lock the keypad, press and hold for about 3 seconds in standby mode. To unlock the keypad, press (Unlock) then in quick succession. If the Auto keypad lock function is enabled, the phone will lock the keypad automatically after being idle in standby mode for a pre-defined period.
z To call an extension, enter the phone number, press three times to enter P, and enter the extension number. 2. Press to dial the number. 3. 4 Text I nput Changing the Text Input Mode The current text input mode indicator is displayed in the upper to switch between text left corner of the screen. Press input modes.
z Press (Clear) once to delete the last character entered. Press and hold (Clear) for about 3 seconds to delete all the characters. z z to display the In any input mode, press commonly used symbol list. Entering a Letter In multi-tap input mode, press the key labeled with the desired letter once to enter the first letter on the key, twice to enter the second letter, and so on.

Sending a Multimedia Message z Contact your service provider to determine the availability of the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and how to subscribe to the service. z Open multimedia messages with caution. Objects in multimedia messages may contain viruses and malicious software that can damage your phone. 1. Select Menu > Messages > Write message > MMS. 2. Edit the message. You can add pictures, audio clips, and attachments to the message.
4. Press to save the contact. Searching for a Contact 1. Select Menu > Contacts. 2. Enter the first letter of the contact name in the search bar.
