I nstallation/ Uninst allat ion Guide
Under different operat ing system s ( OSs) , t he inst allat ion and
uninst allat ion pr ocedures m ay differ. I f t here is any difference, follow
the act ual installat ion prom pt s.
Connect ing t he E270 with a Com put er
N ot e : First , pow e r on a com pu t e r . Then con nect t he E2 7 0 w it h
t h e com pu t e r . Ot herw ise , t h e n or m a l in st a lla t ion of t he E2 7 0
can be a ffe ct e d.
You can connect the E270 t o a com put er with t he USB dat a cable or
the USB adapt er. Two dat a cables ar e prov ided. One is short and
single- ended. The ot her is long and double- ended. Generally, t he
single- ended data cable is used. I f t he power supply t o the E270 is not
enough, use t he double-ended dat a cable instead.

Plug the m ini- universal series bus ( USB) connector int o t he
E270.

Plug t he connectors of t he m ain USB dat a cable and the auxiliary
USB dat a cable int o t he USB int erfaces of t he com put er.
The OS aut o det ects and recognizes new har dware and starts t he
inst allat ion wizard.
Follow the prom pt s of t he inst allat ion w izard.
Aft er t he program is installed, a short cut icon for The E270
m anagem ent program is displayed on t he desktop.
Start ing the Managem ent Program
Double- click t he shor t cut icon on t he deskt op t o st ar t t he
m anagem ent program of t he E270.
I n t he displayed int er face, ent er t he personal identity num ber
( PI N) code if you have enabled t he PI N lock .
Rem oving the E270
Double- click in t he st at us area. The Un plu g or Ej ect
Hardw a re interface is displayed.
Select and st op t he hardware relat ed t o the E270.
When t he OS displays "I t is safe t o rem ove t he device", r em ov e
the E270.
