2 Keys and Functions Press… To… z z View the call log in the standby mode. Make or answer a call. z Power on or off the phone (by pressing and holding it). z End a call or reject an incoming call. z Return to the standby mode. Select the option displayed on the lower left corner of the screen. Select the option displayed on the lower right corner of the screen. z z – z z z z Enter numbers, letters, and symbols. Access Voice Mail in the standby mode (by pressing and holding the 1 key).

3 Screen Icons Icon Description Indicates the signal strength. There is no network signal. There is an incoming call, a call is being set up, or your phone is in conversation. The keypad is locked. An alarm clock is set. The Voice Privacy function is activated during a call. A new message is received. The memory for saving messages is full. An urgent message is received. A new voice mail is received. General profile is activated. Silence profile is activated. Meeting profile is activated.
Icon Description The current network type of the phone is CDMA2000 1X. The phone is in the domestic roaming status. The phone is in the overseas roaming status. Indicates the battery power level.

5 Installing the UIM Card and Battery The User Identity Module (UIM) card and the T-SIM card are the same, that is, Subscriber Identity Module. Make sure that the golden area on the UIM card is facing downwards and the cut-off edge is correctly aligned with the card holder. 6 Removing the Battery and UIM Card Make sure that your phone is powered off.
7 Charging the Battery 1. Connect the charger to the charger interface at the bottom of your phone. 2. Connect the charger to an AC power socket. 3. During the charging, the charging icon is displaying in animation. 4. When the charging icon becomes static, the battery is fully charged. Disconnect the charger from the AC power socket. 5. Disconnect the charger from the phone. 8 Using the Function Menu 1. In the standby mode, press (Menu) to display the Menu interface. 2. Press to scroll to a menu item.
z When the backlight is off and the keypad is locked, press z In the standby mode, choose Menu > Settings > Phone Settings or to turn on the backlight. and select On. Then the phone > Power Save. Press enters the power saving mode, and it can turn off the keypad backlight automatically between 9:00 to 17:00. 10 Making a Call 1. In the standby mode, enter a phone number. z z To make an international call, press twice to enter the international long distance code of "+".
11 Answering a Call When there is an incoming call, you can press (Answer) or to answer it, press , (Silence) once to mute the tone and twice to reject the call, or press to reject the call. z If the Any Key Answer function is enabled, press any key (except or ) to answer an incoming call. z If the Headset Auto Answer function is enabled, and the headset is connected to the phone, the incoming call is answered automatically.
14 Searching for a Channel Automatic Tuning 1. In the Radio screen, press 2. Press (Options) to select Tuning. to select Automatic Tuning. 3. The phone automatically searches for channels and saves them to the channel list. Manual Tuning 1. In the Radio screen, press (Options) to select Tuning. 2. Press to select Manual Tuning. 3. Press to tune from 87.5 MHz to 108.0 MHz. 15 Phone Lock The phone lock function protects your phone from unauthorized use. The default phone lock code is "0000".
If you enter wrong PUKs for a specified number of times consecutively, the UIM card is invalidated permanently. Contact your service provider for a new card. 17 Locking the Keypad to lock the keypad. In the standby mode, press and hold When the keypad is locked, you can still answer an incoming call or make emergency calls by pressing . You can press and to unlock the keypad.
19 Entering English (En) In the "En" input mode, do the following to enter English letters: 1. Press each key only once according to the spelling sequence of the desired word. Then the phone displays the commonly used words according to the numeric sequence of key presses. 2. Press to scroll to the desired word. 3. Press to switch the selected characters between upper case and lower case. 4. Press Press to enter the word. to enter the word and a space.
z z In the "Abc" input mode, press a numeric key repeatedly or press and hold it until the desired number appears on the screen. In the "En" input mode, press a numeric key and then press until the desired number appears on the screen. 23 Entering Symbols 1. In any input mode, press once or twice to display a symbol list. 2. Press to scroll to the desired symbol. 3. Press the number key to enter the symbol.
z Some wireless devices may affect the performance of the hearing aids. For any such problems, consult your service provider. Potentially Explosive Atmospheres Switch off your device in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere, and comply with all signs and instructions. Areas that may have potentially explosive atmospheres include the areas where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine.
z z z z z z z z z In a motor vehicle, do not place the device over the air bag or in the air bag deployment area. Otherwise, the device may hurt you owing to the strong force when the air bag inflates. Do not use your device while flying in an aircraft. Switch off your device before boarding an aircraft. Using wireless devices in an aircraft may be dangerous to the operation of the aircraft, disrupt the wireless telephone network, and may be considered illegal.
Preventing Hearing Damage Using the receiver, earbuds, headphones, speakerphone, or earpieces at high volume can result in permanent hearing loss. Be extremely careful when listening at high decibel levels. Set the volume to a safe level. If you experience strange sounds in your ears like ringing or if you hear muffled speech, get your hearing checked. If you continue to use high volume, your hearing will soon get affected.
z z z z z z z z z Battery and Charger The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times before it eventually wears out. When the standby time and talk time are shorter than normal, replace the battery. Use the AC power supply defined in the specifications of the charger. An improper power voltage may cause fire or the charger may not function properly. Do not connect two poles of the battery with conductors such as metal materials, keys or jewelries.

Do not place your device, battery, or charger in places where it can get damaged because of collision. Otherwise, it may lead to battery leakage, device malfunction, overheating, fire, or explosion. If the ambient temperature is considerably low or high, the capacity and life of the battery is reduced. When the temperature is lower than 0℃, performance of the battery is affected.
Emergency Call You can use your device for emergency calls in the service area. The connection, however, cannot be guaranteed in all conditions. You should not rely solely on the device for essential communications.
