1. Slide the Notifications panel open, and then touch > Location.
2. Touch an option (detailed below) to select or clear the check box.
 GPS Satellites: Select this option if you want to allow apps to use GPS to detect
your location.
 Location & Google Search: Select this option if you want to use your location for
Google Search and other Google services.
 Compass Warning: Select this option if you want to receive notification when the
built-in compass is unavailable.
Security Settings
Use the Security settings to prevent unauthorized access to your phone, set Kid Mode, increase
your privacy, and more.
Screen Lock Settings
You can increase the security of your phone by creating a screen lock. When enabled, you have
to draw the correct unlock pattern on the screen, enter the correct PIN, or enter the correct
password to unlock the phone’s control keys, buttons, and touchscreen. You can also use face
recognition to lock your screen.
Use Face Unlock
1. Slide the Notifications panel open, and then touch > Security.
2. Touch Screen lock > Face Unlock.
3. Touch Set it up > Continue and follow the screen instructions.
4. Choose a backup lock to use in case the phone doesn’t recognize you.
5. Touch Lock phone after, and then specify the idle time before the screen is locked.
Tip: You can also touch Improve face matching in the Security screen to train your phone
to recognize your face in different situations, such as when you’re wearing glasses or
sporting a beard.
You’ll be asked to unlock the screen every time your phone is turned on or when it’s idle for a
certain period of time.
To further improve security, select Liveness check on the Security screen. You’ll be asked to
blink to unlock the screen.
