Your SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card stores your phone number and other important information. Do not bend or scratch your SIM card. Avoid exposing it to static electricity, water or dirt. If your SIM card is lost or damaged while in the U.S.

Use only the adapter and the USB cable that came with HTC One to charge the battery. When the battery power is too low, make sure to use the power adapter to charge, not the USB cable connection with your computer. 1. Insert the small end of the USB cable into the USB connector.

You can enable TalkBack to navigate by voice feedback before selecting the language. Press and hold two fingers on the screen until you hear a message saying that accessibility mode is enabled. Walk through the on-device setup to choose your Internet connection, select how you want to set up your new phone, and more.
Phone setup and transfer Some features that need to connect to the Internet such as location-based services and auto-sync of your online accounts may incur extra data fees. To avoid incurring data fees, disable these features under Settings. For more information on location services, see Turning location services on or off on page 259. Transferring content from an Android phone On your old Android™ phone, download the HTC Transfer Tool and use it to transfer your content to your new HTC phone.

If the PIN code doesn't appear, this may mean that your old phone is unable to connect to your new phone. If this happens, tap Try another transfer method on your new phone to use Bluetooth for transferring contacts from your old phone. 6. On your old phone, choose the types of content you want to transfer, and then tap Start. 7. Wait for the transfer to finish.

Depending on the capabilities of your old phone, you may be able to transfer not only contacts but also other data such as calendar events and text messages to your new HTC phone. Use HTC Sync Manager to transfer more types of content from an iPhone. 1.

Sync with your computer Use HTC Sync Manager to sync contacts, documents, playlists, and more between HTC One and your computer running a Windows® or Mac OS® operating system. You can also use it to transfer your iTunes® backup that contains contacts, messages, and other content from an iPhone from your computer to HTC One.

Your computer will recognize it just like any removable USB drive, and you can copy your media between them. § Download and use the HTC Sync Manager software on your computer. HTC One has these storage types: Phone storage This storage combines both the internal storage, where apps, email, data, and text messages are stored, and the file storage, where photos, videos, and music files are kept. If you are running out of phone storage, see Making more storage space on page 202 for some tips on how to free up space.
Storage USB storage 201 When you plug in an external USB storage device (such as a USB flash drive or an SD card reader), you can view photos and videos stored on the device right from Gallery and play songs stored on the device in Music. You can also open PDFs and edit Office documents. You need a special cable to connect HTC One and a USB storage device. HTC One supports USB storage devices (except portable hard drives) up to 64 GB.
Storage Making more storage space As you use HTC One, you'll accumulate data and fill its storage capacity over time. Here are some tips on how to increase storage space. Run the storage wizard Free up space in the storage by uninstalling apps and deleting files you no longer want to keep. In Settings, tap Storage > Make more space. Manage photos and videos § After taking continuous camera shots, keep only the best shot. Discard the rest, if you don't need them.
Storage 203 About storage encryption On the phone storage, you can encrypt data such as your accounts, settings, downloaded apps and their data, media, and other files. On a storage card, you can only encrypt files. Set a lock screen PIN or password before you start encryption. Fully charge the battery first, or keep HTC One connected to the power adapter during encryption. This process may take about an hour or so. You cannot undo encryption on the phone storage.
Storage If you turn off SD card encryption to stop encrypting new files, previously encrypted files will remain encrypted. To access these files, you must enable encryption again for your storage card. Google Drive Using Google Drive on HTC One Store your photos, documents, and other files on Google Drive to access them on HTC One, your computer, and your other mobile devices. On HTC One, just use your Google Account to sign in to your Google Drive storage.

Settings and security Assigning a PIN to the nano SIM card You can help to protect the nano SIM card by assigning a PIN (personal identification number) that you enter before accessing the nano SIM. When you're prompted to enter the default SIM PIN, enter 1111. 1. Go to Settings, and then tap Security. 2. Tap Set up SIM card lock, then select Lock SIM card. 3. Enter the default PIN of the nano SIM card, and then tap OK. 4. To change the nano SIM card PIN, tap Change SIM PIN.
