Email
Check and send email messages right from your phone.
Gmail
If you signed into your Google Account when you first set
up your phone, you’ll be able to send and receive Gmail
messages. From the Home screen, just tap > Gmail.
Adding your other email accounts
Use the Mail app to set up and manage your other email
accounts such as webmail, POP3, IMAP, or Exchange
ActiveSync accounts.
1. From the Home screen, tap > Mail.
2. On the Choose a mail provider screen, choose the type
of email account to set up.
If you don’t see this screen, press MENU, tap More
> New account, and then choose the type of email
account to set up.
3. Enter the Email address and Password for your email
account.
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to finish setting up
your email account.
Sending an email message
1. From the Home screen, tap > Mail.
2. If you have several email accounts, choose an account
you want to use.
3. On the email account Inbox, press MENU and then tap
Compose.
4. Tap . Then choose the email addresses of contacts to
send to.
You can also directly enter email addresses in the To
field, separating them with a comma.
5. Enter the subject, and then enter your message.
6. Tap Send.
Battery saving tips
Here are some things you can do to get the most out of a
single charge.
Turning off automatic updates
In some apps such as Weather and Stocks, turn off
automatic update:
Open the Weather app. Press MENU, tap Settings, and
then clear the Update automatically check box.
Open the Stocks app. Press MENU, tap Settings, and
then clear the Scheduled sync check box.
Turning off wireless functions
Turn off the data connection, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and
Wi-Fi Hotspot functions when not in use.
From the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap
Settings > Wireless & networks. Clear the check boxes
of wireless functions that are not in use.
From the Home screen, press MENU, and then tap
Settings > Location. To turn GPS o, clear the Use GPS
satellites check box.
To be able to turn o wireless
functions more easily, you can
add their respective widgets to
your Home screen.
From the Home screen, tap
> Widget > Settings, and then
tap the widget that you want.
Get HTC Sync
You can use the HTC Sync software to sync contacts,
calendar, and other information between your computer
and your phone. Copy HTC Sync from the microSD card
that came with your phone and install it on your computer.
1. Connect your phone to your computer using the USB
cable that came with your phone.
2. When the Connect to PC screen appears, tap Disk drive
and then tap Done.
3. On your computer, access your phone’s storage card
which is recognized as a removable disk.
4. Copy HTCSync.exe to your computer.
5. Unmount your phone as required by your computer’s
operating system to safely remove it.
6. On your computer, double-click HTCSync.exe and follow
the onscreen instructions to install HTC Sync.

time to time to check for the most recent HTC Sync
upgrade so you can download and install it.
Your phone comes with a 5 megapixel camera with auto-
focus feature that lets you capture sharp pictures and
record high-definition (720p) videos.
Taking a photo
1. From the Home screen, tap > Camera.
2. Tap to use the zoom bar so you can zoom in or out
first on your subject.
3. On the Viewfinder screen, tap the flash button
repeatedly to choose a camera flash mode depending
on your lighting conditions.
4. Frame your subject on the Viewfinder screen.
5. Let the camera auto focus on the center of the screen,
or you can touch another area on the screen that you
want to focus on.
When you’re auto focusing on people, the camera can
automatically recognize faces and adjust the focus.
6. Press to take the photo.
Capture your big moments Catch up with friends in
your social networks
Friend Stream connects you to your social networks.
Share and get updates from friends in popular networks
like Facebook and Twitter in a single feed. With Friend
Stream, you can easily track your friends’ status messages,
photo uploads, and more — or comment and post your
own.
