116 CHAPTER 6: IP SERVICES COMMANDS
Usage — If the interface you want to remove is configured as the system
IP address, removing the address can interfere with system tasks that use
the system IP address, including the following:
Mobility domain operations
Topology reporting for dual-homed MAP access points
Default source IP address used in unsolicited communications such as
AAA accounting reports and SNMP traps
Examples — The following command removes the IP interface
configured on VLAN mauve:
WX1200# clear interface mauve ip
success: cleared ip on vlan mauve

clear ip alias Removes an alias, which is a string that represents an IP address.
Syntax — clear ip alias name
name — Alias name
Defaults — None.
Access — Enabled.
History — Introduced in MSS Version 3.0.
Examples — The following command removes the alias server1:
WX1200# clear ip alias server1
success: change accepted.
