334 CHAPTER 8: MANAGING WX SYSTEM IMAGES AND CONFIGURATIONS
Deploy — Send the configuration changes to the same WX switch
in the network.
Undo — Remove the changes from the WX switch in the network
plan.
For network changes:
Review — Display the configuration changes that have occurred
in the network for the selected WX switch.
Accept — Update the WX switch in the network plan with the
changes from the live WX switch.
Undo — Remove the changes from the WX switch in the network.
When you are deploying changes to a WX, all of the changes are sent as
a single transaction. If any parameter is unsuccessfully changed, the
entire transaction is rolled back. If the transaction is successful, the
configuration changes are immediately and dynamically put into effect (a
reboot is not required). These changes can be temporary, or you can save
the configuration changes in the current configuration file (found in the
WX nonvolatile storage), so that these changes are preserved across WX
resets.
If you configured the WX to update its image through the selection of a
local software image (as described in “Configuring Basic WX Properties”
on page 188), then the deploy function also simultaneously downloads
and installs the specified image. If the image update option is used, the
WX automatically resets in order to run the updated image. As a best
practice, use the image repository to associate images with WX switches.
This allows you to deploy compatible versions of an image and
configuration if necessary.
