326 CHAPTER 8: MANAGING WX SYSTEM IMAGES AND CONFIGURATIONS
To upload a WX switch configuration
1 In the main 3WXM window, select Manage > Upload. The Upload
Wireless Switch wizard appears.
2 In the IP Address box, type the IP address for the WX switch.
3 In the Enable Password box, type the enable password for the WX switch.
This password must match the enable password that was defined using
the CLI command set enablepass. For more information, see the
Wireless LAN Switch and Controller Configuration Guide.
4 Click Next. The uploading progress is shown.
5 Click Next. The Policies page is displayed.
The Current Policies window lists the policies that will be applied to the
switch during the upload. All policies that are applicable to the switch
model you are uploading, or are applicable to all switch models, are
applied by default.
6 To review the feature areas that are included in a policy, select the policy.
The feature areas in the policy appear in the Details window.
7 If you do not want 3WXM to apply a policy to the switch, select the
policy, then click Remove. The policy is moved from the Current Policies
list to the Available Policies list.
CAUTION: When you click Next, all the policies in the Current Policies list
are automatically applied to the switch. 3WXM does not ask you to
review the changes first. All parameters in the applied policies overwrite
the settings on the switch.
8 Click Next. The verification progress is shown.
When you upload a WX, its configuration is verified if the Verify before
deployment and upload option is selected in the Preferences dialog
box. (By default, this option is selected.) During verification, 3WXM
checks the entire configuration for inconsistencies and dependencies. For
more information, see “Verifying Configuration Information” on
page 327.
9 Click Finish. If the upload is successful, the WX appears in the Equipment
area of the Organizer panel.
If the upload is not successful, check the following:
Make sure that the WX is running by using the ping command.
Make sure that the WX certificate is properly installed.
