Configuring and Managing Access Rules for Administrative Users 283
Creating
Administrator and
Console Access Rules
You can set up administrator and console access rules, and the
authentication and accounting methods for administrator access.
To set up administrator or console access rule properties
1 Access the WX Switch wizard for the WX switch. (See “Accessing the WX
Switch Wizard” on page 187.)
2 Select AAA at the top of the wizard, if not already selected.
3 Select Admin Access from the organizer list on the left side of the page, if
not already selected.
4 Click New Admin Access. The Create Admin Access wizard appears.
5 In the User Glob box, type a full or partial username to be matched
during authentication.
A user glob can have 1 to 80 alphanumeric characters, with no spaces or
tabs. You can use asterisks as wildcards. The user glob it_* specifies all
users with it_ in their usernames (for example, it_tamara).
6 Do one of the following:
To specify whether to use a RADIUS server group or the local database
to authenticate the administrative user, see “To set the authentication
method for administrator access”.
To close the wizard and save the changes, click Finish.
To set the authentication method for administrator access
1 At the top of the Create Admin Access wizard, select Authentication. The
Authentication page appears.
2 To enable this authentication rule, select Enabled. By default, a rule you
configure in 3WXM is disabled, which means 3WXM does not add the
rule to a switch’s configuration.
3 To select the authentication method, click Choose Available, then select
the method from the list:
RADIUS server group — A server group that you have configured
previously.
LOCAL — The WX switch’s local database.
