Creating and Managing Users in the Local User Database 271
8 In the User Group list, select a user group to assign the user to, if the
group is already configured.
You do not need to assign a user to a user group. If you do select a user
group, you only need to specify a password for the user. All other
attributes are obtained from the user group.
9 Do one of the following:
To configure user attributes, see “Configuring User Authorization
Attributes” on page 274.
To configure a user group, see “Creating Named User Groups”.
To close the Create User wizard and save the changes, click Finish.
Creating Named User
Groups
When creating a user group, you define common properties for the
group. You can optionally define user attributes, which are stored in the
local database. Attributes defined for an individual user override those
attributes defined for a user group.
To configure user group authentication properties
1 Access the WX Switch wizard for the WX switch. (See “Accessing the WX
Switch Wizard” on page 187.)
2 Select AAA at the top of the wizard, if not already selected.
3 Select User Group from the organizer list on the left side of the page, if
not already selected.
4 Click New and select New User Group. The Create User Group wizard
appears.
5 In the User Group Name box, type a name for the user group (1 to 60
alphanumeric characters, with no spaces or tabs).
6 In the VLAN Name box, type the VLAN that the user group belongs to
(1 to 16 alphanumeric characters, with no spaces or tabs). The WX switch
will authorize the users in this group for that VLAN. For more information
on VLANs, see “Configuring VLANs” on page 189.
7 Click Choose Available.
8 Select a user to be included in this user group.
To select multiple contiguous users, click Shift while selecting.
To select multiple noncontiguous users, click Ctrl while selecting.
9 Repeat step 7 and step 8 for each user you want included in this group.
