Configuring an SSID 237
For encrypted traffic, the security mode and encryption algorithm
used:
Available security modes: Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) only,
Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) only, Robust Security Network (RSN)
only, WEP + WPA, WEP + RSN, WPA + RSN, and WEP + WPA +
RSN
Available encryption algorithms: 40-bit WEP, 104-bit WEP,
Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP), and Counter Mode with
Cipher Block Chaining Message Authentication Code Protocol
(CCMP)
Authentication settings:
Fallthru method to use when a client is not authenticated by
802.1X or MAC authentication: last-resort, Web Portal, or none
For WPA or RSA, 802.1X authentication or preshared key (PSK)
authentication
For Web Portal, file location of customized Web page to serve
clients for login
Configuring an SSID This section enables you to configure SSIDs. For each SSID, you can
specify the name, You also can specify the clients that are allowed to
access the SSID, and the AAA method(s) to use (local database, RADUIS
server group, or both).
1 Access the WX Switch wizard for the WX switch. (See “Accessing the WX
Switch Wizard” on page 187.)
2 Select Wireless at the top of the wizard, if not already selected.
3 Select SSID from the organizer list on the left side of the page, if not
already selected.
4 To create an SSID, click New SSID. The Create SSID wizard appears.
5 Type the SSID name. The name can be 1 to 32 alphanumeric characters
long, with no spaces or tabs.
6 Do one of the following:
Click Next and go to “Configuring and Managing Access Rules for
Network Users” on page 286.
Click Finish to save change and close the wizard.
