3 Select System IP Address from the organizer list on the left side of the
page, if not already selected.
4 Select the VLAN on which the system IP address is configured from the
System VLAN/IP list box.
5 Optionally, enter the IP address of the switch’s default gateway router in
the first row of the Gateway IP Address section. You can enter up to four
gateway addresses.
You also can configure gateway router addresses using the IP Routes
option of the System and Administrative page. (See “Configuring Static
Routes” on page 226.)
6 Click another item in the organizer list, select another page in the wizard,
or click Finish to save the changes and close the wizard.
Configuring WX
Management
Services
You can configure the following information and management services
for the WX:
System information — You can specify system contact information,
as well as the CLI prompt and the banner message that appears at
each session. (See “Setting System Information” on page 205.)
HTTPS — By default, HTTPS is enabled. TCP port 443 is used for
secure access by Web Manager, the 3Com Web-based application for
managing a WX. (See “Enabling HTTPS” on page 206.)
3WXM communications also use HTTPS, but 3WXM is not affected by the
HTTPS configuration on the WX. For 3WXM, HTTPS is always enabled and
listens to port 8889.
Teln e t — By default, Telnet is disabled. You can enable Telnet for
unencrypted access to the CLI. (See “Configuring Telnet” on
page 207.)
SSH — By default, SSH is enabled. You can use SSH for encrypted
access to the CLI. (See “Configuring SSH” on page 207.)
SNMP — By default, SNMP is disabled. You can configure SNMP
community strings and User Security Model (USM) users, notification
profiles, and notification targets. (See “Configuring SNMP” on
page 208.)
