Installing HP MPIO XP DSM

You can install HP MPIO X P DSM on a stand-alone system or a cluster conﬁguration. The installation

procedure depends on the current conﬁguration of your system.

This section descr ibes how to install HP MPIO XP DSM on the following conﬁgurations:

• Installing HP MPIO XP DSM on stand-alone systems

• Installing HP MPIO XP DSM on cluster con ﬁgurations

Installing HP MPIO XP DSM on stand-alone systems

You can install this software prior to attaching the hardware. To install the HP MPIO XP DSM on a

stand-alone system, complete the steps below:

1. Complete the pre-installation checklist (Table 2) and the pre-installation procedure.

2. Ensure that only a single path is connected to the storag e devices.

3. Conﬁgure the storage sets.

4. Run Launch.exe from the installation location.

5. In the launch window, click InstallHPMPIOFullFeaturedDSMforXPfamilyofDiskArrays.

6. Follow the on-scre en instructions to complete the installation.

7. Restart the server.

8. Add the redundant paths to the storage devices.

NOTE:

For Microsoft Windows Server 2008 – Server Core (x86 and x64), you can run Launch.exe

from the installation location, using only the command prompt.
