HP MPIO Full Featured Device Specic Module (DSM) for XP family of Disk Arrays (HP MPIO XP DSM)
provides multipathing suppor t for HP StorageWorks XP family of disk arrays on Windows platforms using

Preparing for installation
Before installing HP MPIO XP DSM, verify that your system components support the HP MPIO XP DSM
and determine whether you need to upgrade hardware or software before installation.
To prepare your system for the installation of H P MPIO XP DSM:
1. Complet
e the pre-installation checklist (Table 2).
2. Install all hardware components, as described in the hardware installation and conguration
documentation.
3. Install
any required operating system ser vice packs.
4. Back up all user data.
5. Log in with administrator privileges.
6. Ensure that no other i nstallation program is in progress (for example, the Found New Hardware
wiz ar
d).
7. If your system is running Microsoft Terminal Server, change the Terminal Server from Execution
mode to Installation mode.
