1. Tap , then the roll icon, then Unload.
2. You may need to open the roll cover.
3. If the roll is uncuttable, see Manual unload procedure on page 32.
Roll out of paper procedure
If the end of the paper is no longer attached to the core, pull out the paper from the printer.
Pull from wherever the paper is accessible; the rear of the printer is recommended. You may need to open the
roll cover.
Manual unload procedure
Paper types that cannot be cut by the automatic cutter must be unloaded manually:
1. Open the roll cover.
2. If necessary, rewind the paper by turning the spindle manually, until the paper is removed from the printer.
3. Close the roll cover.
Load a single sheet
Z9
+
single-roll models have an input tray at the rear of the printer, and the front panel will recommend using this
path to load the sheet. However, if you prefer, you can use the cut-sheet slot on the top of the printer. If there is
no input tray, you must use the cut-sheet slot on the top.

Using the cut-sheet slot at the top
1. Ensure that all roll covers are closed. If any cover is opened while a sheet is loaded, the sheet will be
immediately unloaded.
2. On the front panel, tap , then Sheet > Load.
3. Select your paper category and type.
TIP: If you have loaded a paper type whose name does not appear in the paper list, see Paper type is not
in the driver, HP Utility, or front panel on page 149.
