HP WBEM Providers UInteger32 SNMP varbinds
Fixed the issue where HP WBEM Provider SNMP trap varbinds are encoded as BER UInteger32
(0x47) instead of Integer (0x02).
HP SIM Memory page reports Unknown Memory for the extended memory on the DL580 G5
server with the optional memory expansion boards
Fixed regression bug in HP Memory provider to restore support for G5 servers that have both
system memory board and stand-alone memory boards.
AMS and Active Health Installation
AMS and Active Health is shipped as part of the HP Custom Image, the HP ESXi Offline Bundle
and the new Agentless Management Service Offline Bundle. The HP Custom Image and the HP
ESXi Offline Bundle also include the HP Insight Management WBEM Providers. The AMS Offline
Bundle only includes the providers required to support online firmware update and SmartArray
reporting in vCenter. Customers can manage their ProLiant servers using Agentless Management
without installing the AMS Offline Bundle. Only customers who intend to manage their ProLiant
servers using only Agentless Management and do not need the full set of HP Insight Management
WBEM Providers installed should install the AMS Offline Bundle. See the Deploying and updating
vSphere 5.0 on Proliant servers white paper for more information.
If the customer has ESXi 5.0 U1 and is currently using HP Insight Management WBEM Providers
for ESXi and requires Agentless Management and does not need the full set of providers installed,
they need to perform the following step:
Install the AMS Offline Bundle to replace the HP ESXi Offline Bundle
If the customer has ESXi 5.0 U1 and is currently using Agentless Management and does not have
the full providers installed and wants to move to using HP Insight Management WBEM Providers
for ESXi, they need to perform the following step:
Install the HP ESXi Offline Bundle to replace the AMS Offline Bundle
Missing SNMP traps on HP SIM
SNMP traps monitoring with HP SIM is not supported for the SNMP traps sent by HP WBEM
Providers on VMware ESXi 5.0 U1. But these traps can be received on other SNMP clients like
snmputil, netsnmp and so on.
System Memory required for installing ESXi 5.0 U1 Customized Image
VMware ESXi will not install on an HP Gen8 server with 2 GB or less system memory. Although
VMware’s stated minimum installation requirement is 2 GB of system memory, HP’s Gen8 platforms
do not expose enough of the 2 GB of system memory to the operating system, causing the installation
to fail. This issue is resolved by populating the system with more than 2 GB of memory.
hpbootcfg utility is updated to support the ProLiant 100 Series Gen8 .
Incorrect Memory Information shown by WBEM provider, when Memory Expansion Boards installed
Fixed issue where, HP Insight Management WBEM Provider for ESXi reports wrong number of
memory boards and memory modules and incorrect memory status information for a ProLiant server
with memory expansion boards installed and populated with DIMM modules.
