2 HP VMware ESXi 4.1 Update 2 customized image The HP ESXi 4.1 Update 2 Customized Image includes the following: • HP Management Tools: ◦ HP CIM Providers ◦ HP NMI Driver ◦ HP iLO Driver ◦ HP CRU Driver • VMware IOVP Certified Device Drivers added to HP ESXi 4.1 Update 2 installation images for HP device enablement. • VMware’s Standard ESXi 4.1 Update 2 image. • HP Agentless Management Service (AMS) to support Agentless Management and Active Health.
3 New and updated in this release The new and updated features for the HP ESXi 4.1 Update 2 Customized Image for June 2012 include: • VMware ESXi 4.1 U2 is supported on new Gen8 servers. • Updated VMware IOVP Certified Device Drivers added to HP ESXi 4.1 U2 installation images for HP device enablement. • Supports HP Dynamic Smart Array. • Updated providers: • 6 ◦ New Gen8 servers and new hardware. ◦ Additional support for HP Smart Carrier.
4 Important notes and recommendations AMS and Active Health Installation AMS and Active Health is shipped as part of the HP Custom Image, the ESXi Offline Bundle and a new AMS Offline Bundle. The HP Custom Image and the ESXi Offline Bundle also include the HP Insight Management WBEM Providers. The AMS Offline Bundle only includes the providers required to support SmartArray reporting in vCenter. Customers can manage their ProLiant servers using Agentless Management without installing the AMS Offline Bundle.
